Connect your QuickBooks, run a scan, and see exactly what needs fixing in your books. No accounting experience required.
What you'll need
- A QuickBooks Online account (any plan works)
- Admin access to your QuickBooks company
- About 5 minutes of your time
Create your free account
- •Go to app.cleanupowl.com and click "Sign in with Google" for the fastest setup.
- •You can also sign up with your email address if you prefer.
- •No credit card required to get started.
💡 Tip: Use the same email you use for your business—it makes managing everything easier.
Connect your QuickBooks
- •Click the green "Connect to QuickBooks" button on your dashboard.
- •Sign in with your QuickBooks Online login (the same one you use to access your books).
- •Select the company you want to scan and click "Connect."
💡 Tip: CleanupOwl only reads your data—we can never make changes to your QuickBooks without your permission.
Run your first scan
- •Click "Run Cleanup Scan" on your connected company.
- •Choose how many years of data to scan (we recommend starting with 2 years).
- •Sit back while we analyze your books—most scans complete in 2-5 minutes.
💡 Tip: You can keep using QuickBooks normally while the scan runs. We work in the background.
Review what we found
- •See a clear summary of issues organized by type (duplicates, uncategorized expenses, etc.).
- •Each issue shows what's wrong, why it matters, and the dollar amount involved.
- •Click any issue to see the specific transactions that need attention.
💡 Tip: Focus on the high-priority items first—these are the ones that could affect your taxes or cash flow.
Fix issues with one click
- •Select the issues you want to fix and choose a plan.
- •Review the suggested fixes before applying them.
- •CleanupOwl guides you through each fix step-by-step—no accounting knowledge needed.
💡 Tip: You can skip any fix you're not sure about and come back to it later.
That's it! You're done.
